RE: DEVELOPMENT OF KINGS HILL
I am a resident of Port Stephens who has become concerned regarding the approval of the development of Kings Hill.
We were in the same situation years ago when we were looking for a place to build our dream home. Even though Council was aware that the land to which we were going to build may be affected in the near future, it did not see fit to discourage us from building. We now find ourselves with land that is “unacceptable to build on”.
It seems Council is now following the same path and will be putting future residents at Kings Hill in the same situation I now find myself in.
I highly stress that plans for Kings Hill be placed on hold until our situation in Raymond Terrace, Medowie and other affected areas is unanimously resolved. Failure to do this will see in the future a much bigger group of 5,000 residents marching on Council for justice.

I have just been advised that my property, because of affectations placed on my S149 by Port Stephens Council has caused my land value to drop by $30,000 (for an average suburban block) as advised by Real Estate Agents in the area.
As such, I request that you now revalue my land and adjust rateable valuation accordingly.
I feel it is an injustice to be paying higher rates on a property that has been devalued.
